On Saturday September 18, the Masonry Association of Florida held its 13th Annual State Apprentice Contest in Saint Petersburg at the Sirata Beach Resort. There were 15 contestants from the MAF Chapters through out the State. The top two finishers from each year contests will go to Chattanooga on October 23 to represent Florida in the BIA/SE Manpower Forum Regional Masonry Contest.

The winning mason apprentices were:

1st Year:

Aaron Meador – Tampa Chapter – Overberg Masonry
Romeo Sarmiento – Tampa Chapter – Overberg Masonry
Julian Gomez – Central Chapter ( Orlando) - Marcobay

2nd Year:

Charlie Darroux – Central Chapter ( Orlando ) – Castle Construction
Ryan Doyle – Treasure Coast (Port St Lucie) – Doyle Masonry
Richard Steele – Treasure Coast (Port St. Lucie) – Doyle Masonry

3rd Year:

Lerve Meltide - Central Chapter ( Orlando ) – Pompano/Sewell
Aaron Gijon – SW Chapter ( Naples ) – TCR
Bobby Brown – Tampa Chapter – Red Brookshire Masonry
